INFLUENCE OF EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING ON EMPLOYMENT GENERATION AMONG BUSINESS EDUCATION GRADUATES IN SOUTHWEST NIGERIA
Abstract
This study examined the influence of experiential learning on employment generation among business education graduates in Southwest Nigeria. The research addressed the rising challenge of graduate unemployment by investigating how teaching methods, instructional strategies, and entrepreneurship education affect employability and self-employment outcomes. A descriptive survey design was adopted, with data collected from 300 business education graduates across Lagos, Ogun, and Ekiti States using a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation, and Multiple Regression Analysis were employed for data analysis. Findings revealed that teaching methods and instructional strategies significantly influence employment generation, while entrepreneurship education showed a strong positive relationship with self-employment outcomes. The study concludes that effective experiential learning fosters job creation and recommends hands-on training, staff development, and stronger institutional support to enhance graduate employabilityReferences
